Lovable, the AI app builder at lovable.dev, sells four plans. I read its pricing page on 24 October 2026. Free is $0. Pro starts at $25 a month, or $21 a month billed yearly ($250 a year), for 100 credits. Business starts at $50, or $42 a month billed yearly ($500), for the same 100 credits. Enterprise is sold through a demo, and both paid plans scale to 10,000 credits a month.

Credits, not seats, decide the bill. Every plan allows unlimited members, and one balance pays for building, chatting, hosting and the AI inside your app. The cards tell you what a credit costs. They say very little about how fast you will spend them.

So this post prices the spending too. Prices are in US dollars, the only currency the page showed, as of October 2026. (For the company itself, Lovable's growth figures are in my no-code statistics roundup.)

TL;DR

Lovable pricing in five lines (October 2026)

  1. Four plans, priced by credits: Free $0; Pro $25 a month or $21 billed yearly for 100 credits; Business $50 or $42 for the same 100; Enterprise by demo (Lovable's pricing page, 24 October 2026).
  2. One balance pays for building, chatting, hosting and the AI inside your app. Lovable's own examples put a single change at 0.50 to 2.00 credits.
  3. Free means 30 credits a month, 5 a day for the first six days, plus small monthly grants for hosting and in-app AI.
  4. Running out costs more: top-ups are $15 per 50 credits on Pro, 20% above the 100-credit tier's monthly rate, and a backend with no credits pauses.
  5. Pay yearly if you will stay. You get two months free, and plan credits stay valid until a month after the year ends. Students get Pro at $12.50 a month, billed monthly.

How I read Lovable's prices

On 24 October 2026 I read Lovable's pricing page in both billing views, opened every option in the Pro and Business credit dropdowns, and read its help docs on plans, credits, top-ups, cancelling and billing. Two things about the page change what you see first:

  • It opens on Monthly. The first prices are $25 and $50. Yearly, labelled "2 months free", shows $21 and $42 a month, charged as $250 and $500 a year.
  • A dropdown moves the price. Each paid card has a "100 monthly credits" menu that climbs to 10,000.

The docs print no update dates, so each docs fact here carries my read date. I did not build or run anything on Lovable, so every per-message cost below is one of Lovable's own examples.

Lovable's docs label its chat pricing a "Temporary offering, subject to change". The per-message price and the daily chat allowance apply "through October 31, 2026", two days after this post publishes, and the monthly Cloud, AI and connector grants carry a temporary label too. Re-check both before you budget around them.

Lovable's pricing page (plan cards in both billing views and the Free grants popovers) and its subscription-plans docs, read 24 October 2026. Yearly prices are per month, charged as one yearly payment.

Look at the members column. Lovable charges nothing per person, so inviting more people only changes how fast the shared balance drains. Pro's own card pitches it at "fast-moving teams building together in real time". One person or eight, same price.

Lovable's pricing page on monthly billing, read 24 October 2026, showing the Free plan at $0, Pro at $25 a month and Business at $50 a month, each with 100 monthly credits, and Enterprise marked Platform fee.

What one Lovable credit buys

Lovable spends one credit balance on five kinds of work. This list follows its credits docs, read 24 October 2026:

  • Build: Plan mode and Build mode messages, plus the images and videos Lovable generates.
  • Chat: questions you put to Lovable, in the app or from Slack and Telegram.
  • Cloud: hosting and the built-in backend.
  • AI gateway: the AI features your published app calls.
  • Connectors that Lovable manages for you, such as Perplexity and Firecrawl.

Build messages are priced on the work they do. Lovable's docs give four examples and call them illustrative.

Request, in Lovable's wordsCredits
"Make the button gray"0.50
"Remove the footer"0.90
"Add authentication"1.20
"Build a landing page with images"2.00

Lovable's credits-and-usage docs, read 24 October 2026. The pricing FAQ prices a similar landing-page request at 1.70 credits, and Lovable says actual use varies.

  • Plan mode: 1 credit a message, plus any research Lovable runs while planning.
  • Chat: priced per message, "typically a fraction of a credit", and paid first from a daily chat allowance whose size Lovable does not publish. This pricing applies through 31 October 2026.
  • Long runs: one Build message can run for up to 10 hours, and Lovable checks in once it crosses 20 credits by default. A /goal run "costs noticeably more".
  • Repairs: 10 free "Try to fix" repairs per account, each back 24 hours after use.

Asking Lovable about your usage in the project chat counts as build usage. Checking the meter runs the meter. If metered billing is new to you, how usage-based AI pricing works covers the general pattern.

Free grants are spent first, and none of them roll over.

Lovable always spends a usage-specific grant before general credits, then the general credits closest to expiry. Daily build credits and the chat allowance cannot pay for Cloud, so hosting draws on its 20-credit monthly grant and then on general credits.

Grants belong to the workspace, so five people share one set of 5 daily build credits, gone at 00:00 UTC each day. The monthly Cloud, AI and connector grants expire at the end of the month on Free, or of the billing cycle on paid plans.

Every Pro and Business credit tier, priced

Here is the full ladder, as of October 2026. The dropdowns on the pricing page and Lovable's subscription docs print the same numbers.

Lovable's pricing page dropdowns, both billing views, and its subscription-plans docs, read 24 October 2026. The yearly charge in brackets is from Lovable's docs table.

Per credit, by my arithmetic, Pro costs $0.25 from 100 to 800 credits and falls to $0.225 at 5,000 and above on monthly billing. The best rate on the page is $0.1875, on Pro 10,000 billed yearly. Business costs exactly double Pro up to 800 credits, at $0.50 a credit.

The green Save badges are volume discounts, not the yearly discount. On monthly billing they compare each tier with the 100-credit rate: Pro's run from 2% at 1,200 credits to 10% from 5,000 up, and Business's reach 14% at 10,000.

Lovable's pricing page with the Pro credit dropdown open on monthly billing, read 24 October 2026, listing 100 credits at $25 a month up to 5,000 credits at $1,125 a month, with green Save badges from 2% to 10% on the larger tiers.
Pro's credit dropdown: 100 credits for $25 up to 5,000 for $1,125 a month; the Save badges are volume discounts. Read 24 October 2026.

And $2,250 a month buys either Pro at 10,000 credits or Business at 5,000.

Yearly billing saves two months and keeps a year of credits alive

Every yearly price is ten months of the monthly one. Lovable's docs call it "two months free compared with paying monthly", and the whole year is charged up front at checkout. At 100 credits, as of October 2026, Pro costs $250 a year against $300 billed monthly, and Business $500 against $600 (my arithmetic).

The bigger difference is how long the credits live.

  • Monthly billing: plan credits expire "2 months from issue date". That is one month of rollover, so Pro 100 holds at most 200 plan credits at once, plus any top-ups (my arithmetic).
  • Yearly billing: credits still arrive monthly, but they "stay valid until 1 month after the annual billing period ends".

That turns the yearly plan into a credit bank. Build hard in a launch month, go quiet for two, and the quiet months' credits are still waiting when you come back. Rollover needs an active subscription, though.

Lovable's pricing page on yearly billing, read 24 October 2026, showing Pro struck through from $25 to $21 a month and Business struck through from $50 to $42 a month, both billed annually.
The same plans billed yearly: Pro $21 and Business $42 a month, two months free. Read 24 October 2026.

The Free plan: 30 credits a month, all in the first week

Free costs $0 and needs no card. As of October 2026 it gives 5 build credits a day, capped at 30 a calendar month, and the cap is front-loaded. Lovable's docs say Free receives daily build credits "for the first 6 days each month", then "none until the next month starts" at 00:00 UTC on the 1st.

Six days of building. Then more than three weeks of waiting.

Monthly grants of 20 Cloud credits, 4 AI credits and 1 connector credit come on top, with the daily chat allowance. The table below shows where Free stops.

The Free plan card on Lovable's pricing page with its Free grants popover open, read 24 October 2026, listing 5 credits to build daily up to 30 per month, 4 credits for AI, 20 credits for Cloud and 1 credit for Connectors each month.
What the Free plan includes: 5 build credits a day up to 30 a month, plus small monthly grants for Cloud, AI and connectors. Read 24 October 2026.

Lovable's subscription-plans docs, pricing cards and database docs, read 24 October 2026. Git sync works on Free, so code can leave Lovable on every plan.

Lovable describes no free trial of its paid plans, so the Free plan is the way to try it. Lovable can unpublish a Free app after 12 months without visits or workspace-owner logins; it emails first and keeps the project.

Lovable's free in-app AI offer ended in October 2025.

A Lovable blog post from 30 September 2025 still ranks for "is lovable free". It made AI usage inside Lovable apps free "until October 6th", and that offer ended on 6 October 2025. Today the AI features in your app draw on the 4-credit monthly AI grant, then on general credits.

Business costs double, and its credits are worth double

Business starts at $50 a month, or $42 billed yearly, as of October 2026. On top of Pro it adds the controls a company asks about:

  • SSO and role-based access.
  • Workspace publish, design templates and the Lovable API.
  • The security center.
  • Workspace data kept out of AI model training by default, where Free and Pro have to opt out per account.
  • Priority support.

The credits behave differently. A Build request costs the same number of credits on both plans, but Lovable's docs price a Business credit at $0.50 against Pro's $0.25. For hosting and in-app AI, Business deducts fewer credits "because each Business credit represents more dollars". Lovable's pricing FAQ says running an app is "not more expensive on the business plan", and its docs add that the smaller deduction "does not mean Cloud or AI gateway usage is cheaper on Business".

So the extra $25 a month at 100 credits buys the features, and every Build message costs twice as much in dollars. Top-ups double too, to $30 per 50 credits, and an active auto top-up pauses when you move from Pro to Business because the price per credit changes.

Hosting and in-app AI spend the same balance

Since June 2026 a Lovable workspace has one balance. Lovable's 13 June 2026 post announced the merge: the old "two balances", build credits and a separate Cloud and AI balance, became one, and purchased Cloud and AI balances were converted "at your plan's credit price". The post said: "Your plan price isn't changing." (Here is the June 2026 billing change, logged with other vendors' price moves.)

Publishing to a lovable.app address is free on every plan. What spends credits is the backend behind it: the database's size, uptime and storage, plus network, compute and realtime use. Those charges draw on the 20-credit Cloud grant first, then on general credits. AI calls from your app work the same way with the 4-credit AI grant, priced per model call.

Paid plans pick a database size from Tiny to X-Large, and the app shows an estimated monthly cost for each. Lovable publishes no per-size price, as of October 2026, so there is none to print here. Its pricing FAQ says hosting for "smaller or new apps" is usually "fully covered by the included grant". That is Lovable's claim, and it names no traffic threshold.

When the credits run out

Running out does not touch your subscription, per Lovable's out-of-credits docs read 24 October 2026. Here is what changes and what does not:

  • Building stops, and work in progress pauses with two buttons: Add credits or Finish up.
  • AI features in your published app fail with a 402 Payment Required error.
  • The built-in backend pauses. Lovable keeps the data, but you cannot reach or export it until the backend wakes.
  • Your published site stays live.
  • Chat carries on while the daily allowance lasts.

On Free, you upgrade or wait for the next grant. Paid plans can buy more.

A top-up costs 20% more per credit than the 100-credit plan billed monthly.

Top-ups are sold on Pro and Business only, by a workspace admin or owner, as a one-time payment through Stripe. As of October 2026, Pro pays $15 per 50 credits ($0.30 each) and Business $30 per 50 ($0.60). That is 20% above each plan's 100-credit tier on monthly billing, and the price is the same on either billing. Pro's /usr/bin/bash.30 is also 60% above its best yearly rate, at 10,000 credits (my arithmetic). Sizes run from 50 to 10,000 credits, and every top-up lasts 12 months.

Auto top-up ships with defaults worth reading before you switch it on:

  • It buys 100 credits whenever the balance falls to 25.
  • It stops at 400 credits a month unless you change the limit, which you can set from 100 to 100,000 credits or remove.
  • That limit resets on the 1st of each calendar month at 00:00 UTC, whatever your billing date.

Owners and admins can also cap credits per member, project or workspace. Lovable's own advice is blunt: if you need more every month, "a higher plan or credit tier is usually better value than repeated top-ups".

Three monthly bills, worked out

Lovable publishes no average message cost. So each bill below takes Lovable's own examples as a range, 0.50 to 2.00 credits a Build message, and every total is my arithmetic on the US cards as of October 2026.

  1. A weekend side project, one person. About 60 Build messages a month across 8 weekend days comes to 30 to 120 credits. Free stalls, because its 30 credits all land in the first six days. Pro 100 gives 100 plan credits plus 5 daily credits on each of the 8 building days, about 140 usable, for $25 a month or $250 a year ($20.83 a month).
  2. Two founders on a six-week MVP sprint. About 250 Build messages a month between them is 125 to 500 credits. Pro 400 at $100 a month gives 400 plan credits, plus up to 150 shared daily credits if someone builds every day. For a one-off spike, Pro 200 ($50) plus three 50-credit top-ups ($45) costs $95 for 350 paid credits. Spend like that every month and Pro 400 wins on price per credit, $0.25 against about $0.27. After launch, drop to Pro 100: the change lands at the end of the period, and existing credits keep their expiry.
  3. A 15-person ops team that needs SSO. SSO starts on Business. At 1,200 credits a month that is $588 billed monthly, or $490 a month billed yearly ($5,880), against $294 or $245 for Pro 1,200. The governance costs $294 a month on monthly billing. All 15 people share the 1,200 credits and one set of 5 daily credits, and a per-member limit stops one person draining the pool.

Your own number comes from your own message count. For the first month, watch the balance on Lovable's Plans & credit usage page, then size the tier.

Discounts: students and referrals

Students and teachers get 50% off Pro with 100 credits, billed monthly, for up to 12 months, as of October 2026. That takes Pro from $25 to $12.50 a month, or $150 over a year against $300 at list (my arithmetic).

  • You verify with an academic email, and only while the workspace is on Free.
  • Each person gets the discount once, and Lovable will not offer it again after you cancel.
  • Annual billing and the bigger Pro tiers are excluded.
  • Top-ups cost the standard price.

Referrals pay in credits. The person you invite gets 10 bonus credits on sign-up, and you get 100 when they first pay for Pro or Business; bonus credits last 12 months.

That is every discount on the Lovable pages I read. None of them is a nonprofit or startup discount, and campus pricing goes through sales. Offers on coupon sites and social posts appear on none of the Lovable pricing or help pages I read, so I left them out.

Cancelling, refunds and how you pay

Cancelling is a downgrade. You choose Manage, then Downgrade to free; Lovable's usage page has no cancel button, and you do not need to contact support. The plan runs to the end of the period you paid for, then drops to Free.

Your unused monthly plan credits and rollover credits are frozen at that point. You cannot use them on Free, and Lovable does not refund them, but they come back if you re-subscribe before they expire. Top-up and bonus credits stay usable on Free until they expire.

On refunds, Lovable's docs, read 24 October 2026, say: "Subscription fees and credits are non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund." If you were charged in error, such as a renewal after cancelling, contact support.

  • On the web, you pay through a Stripe billing portal. Coupon codes apply at checkout, and gift cards are redeemed in the Manage plan dialog.
  • On iOS, through the App Store. Each purchase covers one month and does not renew; Apple handles refunds.
  • On Android, you buy in the browser, because the app has no in-app purchase.

What Bolt, Replit and v0 charge for the same $25

Each figure below comes from that vendor's own pricing page, read 24 October 2026, for one person's entry paid plan.

Each vendor's own pricing page, read 24 October 2026, in US dollars. Bolt and Replit open on yearly billing; Lovable opens on monthly, and v0 shows no billing toggle.

The units differ (credits, tokens, dollars of model usage), so this table compares entry prices, not value. Bolt's 10M tokens include rollover, and Replit's $20 is an allowance "towards more powerful models".

Bolt's pricing page on monthly billing, read 24 October 2026, showing a Free plan at $0, Pro at $25 a month billed monthly, Teams at $30 per member billed monthly and Enterprise at Custom.
Bolt's pricing page on monthly billing: Pro $25 a month, Teams $30 per member. Read 24 October 2026.

Team pricing splits the four further. Lovable and Replit Core price the workspace or the plan, while Bolt Teams ($30 per member monthly, $27 yearly) and v0 charge per member. For more tools, see AI coding tools priced side by side.

Replit's pricing page on its default yearly view, read 24 October 2026, showing Core struck through from $20 to $18 a month and Pro struck through from $100 to $90 a month, billed annually, with Enterprise at Custom.
Replit's pricing page as it opens, yearly billing: Core $18 and Pro $90 a month (list $20 and $100). Read 24 October 2026.

Which Lovable plan should you pick?

Pick by credits first, then by controls. US prices, as of October 2026:

  • Trying it, or a one-page prototype: Free. Do your building in the first week of the month.
  • One person building steadily: Pro 100, at $25 a month or $21 billed yearly. If you will keep it for a year, pay yearly, for the credit bank as much as the discount.
  • A sprint: a higher Pro tier for the sprint months, then a downgrade.
  • A student or teacher: Pro for Students at $12.50 a month, monthly only.
  • A company that needs SSO or role-based access: Business, sized by the credits the team will spend. Headcount does not change the price.
  • Procurement, SCIM and audit logs: Enterprise, by demo.

If you are choosing between an app builder and an AI subscription, that guide covers the chat plans with coding tools inside them. And if your "app" is really an automation between apps you already use, Make pricing explained is the closer fit.

Before you pick a credit tier, check what the app is for. Plenty of small builds are a page wrapped around one job that repeats, like an inbox sorted before you sit down. Lovable's own October post suggests building "an inbox assistant that drafts your replies". If you want the task done rather than an app to maintain, there is a route with nothing to build or host. Gravity, my company, is not an app builder and will not give you a website or a database. You type the task and an agent built for that job runs it, on a schedule if you want, such as the Inbox assistant in Gravity's catalog in October 2026: every morning it sorts new Gmail into needs you, FYI, can wait and no action, drafts replies in your voice and sends you a short digest, and it never sends an email for you. Gravity is in public beta and your first 3 agent runs are free; Mini Pilot is $15 a month. Explore agents

For other routes that skip the build, here are three ways to get an agent for free and the cheapest AI agent platforms, priced side by side.

FAQ

1. How much does Lovable cost?

As of October 2026, Lovable's Free plan is $0, Pro starts at $25 a month or $21 a month billed yearly ($250 a year), and Business starts at $50 a month or $42 billed yearly ($500), each for 100 credits a month. Both paid plans scale to 10,000 credits, at $2,250 and $4,300 a month on monthly billing. Enterprise is sold through a demo and has no published price.

2. Is Lovable free?

Yes. The Free plan needs no card and, as of October 2026, gives 5 build credits a day up to 30 a month, which in practice arrive on the first six days, plus monthly grants of 20 Cloud, 4 AI and 1 connector credit. You can publish to a lovable.app address, but custom domains, code editing inside Lovable and top-ups need Pro.

3. How many credits do I get on Lovable Pro?

The $25 tier gives 100 credits a month, and higher tiers go up to 10,000, as of October 2026. On top come 5 build credits a day with no monthly cap, each day's set expiring at 00:00 UTC, plus the monthly grants of 20 Cloud, 4 AI and 1 connector credit.

4. How much does one Lovable message cost?

A Build message costs what the work costs: Lovable's own examples run from 0.50 credits to make a button gray up to 2.00 for a landing page with images. A Plan mode message costs 1 credit plus any research, and a chat message typically costs a fraction of a credit, paid first from a daily allowance. Lovable says that chat pricing applies through 31 October 2026.

5. Do Lovable credits roll over?

Monthly plan credits do. On monthly billing they last two months from issue, and on yearly billing they stay valid until a month after the year ends. Daily credits and the Cloud, AI and connector grants never roll over, and top-ups last 12 months.

6. What happens when I run out of Lovable credits?

Building stops, AI features in your published app fail and the built-in backend pauses, while the published site stays live and chat continues as long as the daily allowance lasts. On Pro and Business you can buy top-ups, $15 per 50 credits on Pro and $30 on Business as of October 2026, or turn on auto top-up. On Free you upgrade or wait for the next grant.

7. Does Lovable have a student discount?

Yes. Verified students and teachers get 50% off Pro with 100 credits, billed monthly, for up to 12 months, which takes it from $25 to $12.50 a month as of October 2026. You verify with an academic email while on Free, each person can use it once, and top-ups cost the standard price.

8. Does Lovable charge per user?

No. Every plan allows unlimited members and is priced by the credits it includes. The whole workspace shares one balance and one set of daily credits, so more people only means the credits run out sooner.
