Gamma AI, the maker of presentations, documents and websites at gamma.app, sells one free plan and three paid plans for individuals. I read its pricing page on 31 October 2026, and these are the US prices per seat a month: Plus is $9 billed yearly or $12 billed monthly, Pro is $18 or $25, and Ultra is $90 or $100. Business costs $40 a seat a month, billed yearly only. Enterprise is priced by quote.

Every plan runs on AI credits, and the paid plans refill them monthly. Free gets 400 at signup that never come back. Once those 400 are spent, Plus is the real starting price.

The page also opens on yearly billing, so the first prices you see are charged as one payment for twelve months. Every price below names its billing state.

TL;DR

Gamma pricing in five lines (October 2026)

  1. US prices, read 31 October 2026: Free costs $0; Plus is $9 a seat a month billed yearly or $12 monthly, Pro $18 or $25, and Ultra $90 or $100. Business is $40 a seat a month, billed yearly only, and Enterprise is priced by quote.
  2. Free gives 400 AI credits once, and they never refill. Paid plans get 1,500, 4,000 or 20,000 a month (Business 10,000 a seat), and unused plan credits roll over up to twice that.
  3. Extra credits start at $6 for 1,500, sold at one flat rate, on paid plans only, so Pro plus bought credits can undercut Ultra if credits are all you need.
  4. Yearly billing saves 25% on Plus, 28% on Pro and 10% on Ultra by my arithmetic, charged upfront.
  5. Refunds come only within 3 days and under a credit threshold, and Gamma's cancellation article asks for 30 days' notice before renewal to avoid the next charge.

How I read Gamma's prices

On 31 October 2026 I read Gamma's pricing page in both billing states and on its Business tab, the US price list behind it, and Gamma's help center articles on credits, billing, refunds and cancelling. I read Gamma's API pricing docs and the pricing pages of Beautiful.ai and Canva the same day. I opened no account and generated no deck, so every credit rule below comes from Gamma's own pages.

Gamma loads its prices by location. From India the page shows a separate rupee list, so every figure here is Gamma's US list, in dollars. Older guides still list a $20 Team plan; Gamma's pricing page no longer shows one, and neither does the price list it loads.

Gamma's pricing page (Individual tab in both billing states, and the Business tab) and the US price list it loads, read 31 October 2026. The yearly totals in brackets are Gamma's own "billed annually" figures. Effort levels come from Gamma's help article on the effort picker.

Check the toggle before the price. The page opens on Pay annually, so $9, $18 and $90 are yearly rates, and Gamma's upgrade help calls the annual figure "your per-seat cost when the full year is paid upfront as a single charge." Pick Pro on yearly billing and $216 leaves your card on day one.

Gamma's pricing page in its default Pay annually view, read 31 October 2026, showing the banner Save up to 28% with annual billing, Free at $0 with no credit card required, Plus at $9, Pro at $18 marked Most popular and Ultra at $90 per seat per month, billed $108, $216 and $1,080 per seat a year, with 400 credits at signup on Free and 1,500, 4,000 and 20,000 monthly credits on the paid cards.

How Gamma's AI credits work

Credits are the unit Gamma spends on AI work, and the price of any one action moves. Gamma's pricing FAQ says the credits an action uses "can vary based on what you're doing, which AI model is used, and the length or complexity of the generation." Its help center's rules fall into four groups:

  • Spends credits: Create with AI, which Gamma meters "per slide and per image", plus editing with Agent, adding cards with AI, trying new layouts and AI images. Image tools show the model's credit cost before you generate.
  • Free: anything manual, from typing to picking a theme. Run out of credits and you can still edit by hand.
  • Also free: an AI action that fails or errors, and a clarifying question from the AI.
  • Spent anyway: "If the AI completes an action, credits are used, even if the result isn't exactly what you wanted." Undo returns nothing. Neither does deleting the gamma.

Credits sit in up to three buckets, spent in a fixed order: plan credits first, then credits you bought, then the shared workspace pool on Business and Enterprise. Plan credits refresh on your own billing date each month. Yearly plans get "credits issued monthly (not all upfront)".

Gamma's pricing page FAQ read 31 October 2026, with the answers to What are AI credits? and How can I get more AI credits? expanded, listing 1,500 monthly credits on Plus, 4,000 on Pro, 20,000 on Ultra and 10,000 per seat on Business, a rollover limit of twice the monthly amount with Plus holding up to 3,000, a line saying paid users can purchase more, and 400 Free starter credits that do not refill.
Gamma's own credit rules on its pricing page, 31 October 2026: monthly credits per plan, rollover up to twice the allowance, and 400 Free credits that do not refill.

Plan credits roll over, but never past twice the monthly amount.

Unused plan credits carry into the next month, up to double the allowance. Gamma's own example is Plus: with 1,500 credits a month, "you can have up to 3,000 plan credits at any time." The same rule caps Pro at 8,000, Ultra at 40,000 and Business at 20,000 a seat (my arithmetic). Bought credits sit outside the cap.

Plan changes move the balance too. Upgrade and you keep every credit you hold, plus the new allowance at once. Downgrade and any plan credits above the smaller plan's cap are removed, while bought credits stay in full.

Gamma cannot yet tell you what one deck cost.

Gamma's help center asks the buyer's question for you, "Can I see how many credits a presentation used?", and answers it: "Not yet. Gamma doesn't currently show a credit history for each gamma or action."

The only per-deck figures Gamma publishes sit in its API docs, for the classic generator, and they are a rough guide at best: "Deck with 10 cards + 5 images using a basic image model = ~20-60 credits." Gamma's agent is charged for the AI work it does, and the same docs warn that "the same prompt can cost a different amount from run to run." Size a plan by its allowance and rollover cap, and expect two similar decks to cost different amounts.

Is Gamma free? Yes, until 400 credits run out

Yes. Gamma Free costs $0 as of October 2026 and needs no card. The catch sits in the pricing FAQ: "Free plan includes 400 starter credits that do not refill." The rest of the plan:

  • 400 credits at signup, once. Spend them and you earn more or upgrade.
  • Up to 10 slides per prompt, against 100 on the paid plans.
  • The "Made with Gamma" badge on what you share and export.
  • Export to PDF, PPTX, PNG and Google Slides, plus import from PDF and PPTX.
  • Lite and Standard effort only.
  • 200 credits for each person you refer, with at most 2,000 held at once. Inviting someone into your workspace does not count as a referral.
  • No way to buy credits: "Free users cannot purchase credits."

There is no free trial of a paid plan either. Gamma's upgrade help says it "does not offer a traditional free trial", and every account starts on Free with no time limit. Free is the trial. If you are a student or a teacher working inside those 400 credits, I cover AI agents for students and AI agents for teachers in their own guides.

Plus at $9 billed yearly: the badge comes off

Plus costs $9 a seat a month billed yearly, charged as $108 for the year, or $12 billed monthly, as of 31 October 2026. Gamma pitches it "For extra AI power and removing Gamma branding", and the card makes four promises: 1,500 credits a month, up to 100 slides per prompt, no Gamma branding and advanced AI image models.

Plus doubles Free's input limit to 100,000 tokens per initial generation, rolls unused credits up to 3,000 and lets you buy more. Effort still stops at Lite and Standard, so Max is the first reason to move up.

Billing is per seat. Invite a colleague and Gamma charges a second seat the moment they accept.

Pro at $18 billed yearly: Max effort, custom branding and your own domains

Pro is the card Gamma marks "Most popular". As of October 2026 it costs $18 a seat a month billed yearly ($216 for the year) or $25 billed monthly: $9 more than Plus on yearly billing, $13 more on monthly (my arithmetic). Over Plus, it adds:

  • 4,000 credits a month instead of 1,500, rolling up to 8,000.
  • Premium AI image models.
  • Custom branding, with headers and footers.
  • Detailed analytics and advanced sharing, including password protection.
  • Publishing on up to 10 custom domains.
  • The Max effort level, which Gamma describes as "Deeper research" that "cites where information came from".

Do not upgrade for API access alone. Gamma's pricing FAQ says of the API, "Access is available on all plans and uses AI credits", and its developer docs say "API keys are available on all plans, including Free." Through the API, Pro and above get the "max" quality setting and the analytics endpoints.

Ultra at $90 billed yearly: 20,000 credits and the most advanced models

Ultra costs $90 a seat a month billed yearly, charged as $1,080, or $100 billed monthly, as of 31 October 2026. That is $72 a month more than Pro on yearly billing and $75 more on monthly (my arithmetic). For it you get 20,000 credits a month, "Access to the most advanced AI models (text, image, video)", up to 100 custom domains, custom fonts and early access to new features.

One older help article still describes Ultra as monthly-only. The pricing page and the US price list both sell it on yearly billing, at $1,080, so go by the page.

If credits are all you need, Pro plus bought credits costs less than Ultra.

The biggest number Ultra adds over Pro is 16,000 credits a month, and credits can be bought. As of October 2026, Gamma's help center says "Credit purchases start at $6 for 1,500 credits" and "Credits are sold at one flat rate". By my arithmetic from that flat rate, a bought credit costs $0.004, so 16,000 of them cost $64. Gamma shows the exact amount before you confirm.

BillingPro plus 16,000 bought creditsUltraGap
Monthly$25 + $64 = $89$100Pro route $11 less
Yearly, per month$18 + $64 = $82$90Pro route $8 less

My arithmetic on Gamma's US prices and its flat credit rate of $6 per 1,500, read 31 October 2026. One seat, 20,000 credits a month either way.

So the Pro route saves $8 to $11 a month. Ultra keeps what a top-up cannot buy: the most advanced text, image and video models, 100 custom domains and early access. Want those? Ultra. Want volume? Price the top-up first.

Business at $40 a seat: yearly only, with a shared credit pool

Business sits on its own tab and has no monthly price. As of 31 October 2026 it costs $40 a seat a month, billed yearly as $480 a seat. Gamma calls it "completely self-serve", and it includes everything in Pro plus 100 custom domains. The card and Gamma's Business help list:

  • 10,000 credits a month per seat.
  • Shared workspace credits for extra usage, which admins fund by buying credits, drawn on once a member's own credits are used.
  • SSO authentication.
  • SOC 2 documentation on request.
  • Access to the most advanced AI models.
  • Advanced data controls, and in the words of Gamma's Business help, "Your data is never used for training".

The seat selector starts at one and goes to 100. Neither the page nor Gamma's Business help article states a seat minimum, though ACH payments "require a minimum purchase of 25 licenses".

Gamma's Business pricing tab read 31 October 2026, showing the Business card at $40 per seat per month and $480 per seat billed annually, a Number of seats selector set to 1, and a feature list with 10,000 monthly credits per seat, shared workspace credits, SSO and SOC 2 documentation, beside an Enterprise card marked Custom with an annual agreement and a Contact sales button.
Gamma's Business tab, 31 October 2026: $40 a seat a month, billed $480 a seat a year, with 10,000 credits per seat and a shared workspace pool; Enterprise is priced by quote.

Enterprise runs on an annual agreement, and Gamma publishes no price for it. It adds custom credits, SCIM provisioning, advanced admin controls, purchase orders with payment terms and dedicated onboarding.

Every member of a paid workspace is a paid seat, the admin included.

Gamma's rule: "Every member of a paid workspace uses a paid seat, whatever their role. That includes admins and the person who pays for the subscription." (So yes, the founder who set it up pays too.)

  • Guests do not use a seat.
  • New seats are charged right away, prorated.
  • Removing a member does not lower the billed seat count until you lower it yourself, so do both on the same day.
  • Individual plans count the same way: "two users on the monthly Pro Plan will be billed double."

Yearly billing saves 10% to 28%, depending on the plan

Gamma's banner says "Save up to 28% with annual billing". Only Pro reaches the full 28%. Here is each plan's year for one seat, US prices as of 31 October 2026:

Plan12 monthly billsOne yearly chargeYou save
Plus$144$108$36 (25%)
Pro$300$216$84 (28%)
Ultra$1,200$1,080$120 (10%)
BusinessNot sold monthly$480 a seatn/a

My arithmetic on Gamma's US prices, read 31 October 2026. The yearly charge is one upfront payment for twelve months.

The saving only lands if you keep the plan, and refunds stop after 3 days. Here is the month from which yearly beats paying monthly for the same stretch (my arithmetic):

  • Plus: monthly is cheaper up to month 8, the two tie at month 9 ($108 each), and yearly wins from month 10.
  • Pro: from month 9, when monthly billing reaches $225 against $216.
  • Ultra: from month 11.
Gamma's pricing page with the toggle switched to Pay monthly, read 31 October 2026, showing Plus at $12, Pro at $25 and Ultra at $100 per seat per month, each marked Billed monthly, with the same 1,500, 4,000 and 20,000 monthly credit lines as the annual view.
The same page on monthly billing, 31 October 2026: Plus $12, Pro $25 and Ultra $100 a seat a month.

Not sure you will stay that long? Start monthly. Gamma lets you move to an annual plan at any time from Settings & members, under Manage subscription.

Buying more credits: $6 per 1,500, at one flat rate

Paid plans can buy credits; Free cannot. As of October 2026, "Credit purchases start at $6 for 1,500 credits," and Gamma adds: "There are no bulk discounts." One purchase can run to 2,000,000 credits.

At that flat rate, a bought credit works out to $0.004, or $4 per 1,000. My arithmetic on the yearly plan prices puts a Plus plan credit at $0.006 and a Pro or Ultra one at $0.0045, so a top-up costs less per credit than the allowance inside any individual plan. The plan buys the features. A top-up only buys volume.

  • Buy once works in single-member workspaces on any paid plan, and in Business workspaces of any size.
  • Auto-recharge is for admins, is never on by default, and switches off when you request a cancellation or a downgrade.
  • Plus, Pro or Ultra workspaces with several members get auto-recharge only, and each member who triggers it is charged separately.
  • On Business, Gamma adds individual credit purchases to the shared pool automatically.
  • Bought credits never expire while you subscribe, and last a year after you cancel.

Four Gamma bills, worked out

Four buyers on Gamma's US list as of 31 October 2026. Every figure is my arithmetic, before tax.

  1. A student, or one deck for one class. Free, $0: 400 credits once, plus 200 per referral, holding up to 2,000 at a time. After that, a paid plan.
  2. A freelancer sending client decks without the badge. Plus, $108 a year on yearly billing or $144 over twelve months on monthly billing. That buys 1,500 credits a month, rolling up to 3,000, and a heavy month can top up at $6 per 1,500.
  3. A consultant who needs branding, analytics, a custom domain and Max effort. Pro, $216 a year on yearly billing or $300 on monthly billing, which is $108 a year more than Plus on yearly billing. For what else a practice can hand off, see AI agents for consultants.
  4. A five-person team. Business: five seats at $480 come to $2,400 a year, with 50,000 seat credits a month, a shared pool and SSO. Five Pro seats billed yearly cost $1,080 for 20,000 credits split person by person, with no SSO and no pool.

The gap on the team bill is $1,320 a year. It buys SSO, pooling, the locked training opt-out, 100 custom domains instead of 10 and 30,000 more credits a month.

Refunds, cancelling and downgrades

Gamma refunds paid plans "only within the first 3 days of subscribing", on monthly and yearly billing alike, and "only upon contacting Customer Support." Cancelling inside those 3 days does not refund you automatically. You also have to stay under a credit threshold:

PlanMonthly creditsRefund only if credits used stay under
Plus1,500300
Pro4,000600
Business10,000 a seat1,000
Ultra20,0002,000

Gamma's refund policy article, read 31 October 2026. After 3 days, no refunds are issued "except where required by applicable law."

  • Downgrades are never refunded. They take effect at the end of the period, with no proration.
  • To get to Free, you cancel. Gamma: "Free isn't a downgrade option."
  • Cancel at least 30 days before renewal. Gamma's cancellation article: "To avoid being charged for the next billing period, cancel at least 30 days before your plan's renewal date." On a yearly plan, put that date in your calendar the day you buy.
  • After cancelling, the plan runs to the end of the period, then the account moves to Free with your content kept and plan credits dropped to 400. Bought credits last a year.
  • There is no pause button. Subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play cancel in the phone's settings.
  • Promo codes work only on a first paid subscription, and the US price list carried no discount on 31 October 2026.
  • Tax may be added, depending on your location.

Per seat plus a metered allowance is one of several ways AI products charge, and my explainer on how per-seat and usage pricing compare covers the rest.

What the same money buys at Beautiful.ai and Canva

Canva and Beautiful.ai for one person, from their own pricing pages, read 31 October 2026 alongside Gamma's, in US dollars:

ToolPlanBilled monthlyBilled yearly, per monthPer year on yearly billing
GammaPlus$12$9$108
GammaPro$25$18$216
Beautiful.aiPro$45 (one-month option)$14.50$174
CanvaProUS$18US$12US$144

Each vendor's own pricing page, one person, read 31 October 2026. Beautiful.ai's $174 a year and Canva's US$12 a month are my arithmetic from their yearly prices. Canva's prices exclude tax.

Beautiful.ai is built around slides that format themselves to a layout. It has no free plan, and its 14-day trial needs a card, which "will be charged in full if you don't cancel your trial before the trial period ends." Its FAQ offers "a year free for students with valid .edu emails." Its Team price contradicts itself: as of 31 October 2026, Beautiful.ai's page lists Team at $40 a month billed annually, but its card says that covers three users while its FAQ says it is per user.

Canva is a general design tool, and presentations are one of its "1,000+ design types". As of 31 October 2026, Pro is US$144 a year or US$18 a month for one person. Canva has a free plan, and its paid plans offer a free trial whose length I did not check.

Which Gamma plan should you pick?

Start with how often you will use the AI, then count the people. US prices as of October 2026:

  • Trying it once, or a class project: Free.
  • You share decks with clients and the badge matters: Plus, billed yearly at $9 a month if you will keep it a full year, or monthly at $12 if not.
  • You need your own brand, analytics, a custom domain or Max effort: Pro.
  • You burn through credits every month: price Pro plus bought credits before Ultra, and pay for Ultra when you want its models.
  • A team that needs SSO and shared credits: Business, at $480 a seat a year, with no monthly option.
  • SCIM, invoiced billing or custom credits: talk to Gamma's sales team.
  • You mostly want a chatbot that writes, with a deck now and then: compare general AI plans in my guide to which AI subscription is worth paying for.

If your job is mostly the words and the slides come last, start with the AI writing tools I priced for a year. And if the deck needs market evidence first, look at the research tools I priced.

Gamma builds the deck. Finding the evidence for its problem slide is a separate job, and it is the one place Gravity fits. Gravity, my company, is in public beta: you type the task and an agent someone built runs it. In Gravity's catalog in October 2026, the Pain Point Discovery agent reads what customers in your market say in forums, communities, reviews and app stores, groups the complaints into themes, shows which are growing and why people leave each competitor, and links every number and quote to the real post. It hands the findings back in Gravity as a downloadable PowerPoint deck, Word report and spreadsheet. It does not design your presentation or connect to Gamma, so Gamma stays where you build the pitch. Your first 3 agent runs are free. Explore agents

FAQ

1. How much does Gamma cost?

As of 31 October 2026, Gamma's US prices per seat a month are $9 for Plus, $18 for Pro and $90 for Ultra billed yearly, or $12, $25 and $100 billed monthly. Business costs $40 a seat a month, billed yearly only at $480 a seat, and Enterprise is priced by quote. Free costs $0.

2. Is Gamma AI free?

Yes. As of October 2026 the Free plan costs $0 with no card and includes 400 AI credits at signup that never refill, up to 10 slides per prompt and the 'Made with Gamma' badge. More credits come only from referrals, at 200 each with up to 2,000 held at once, or from a paid plan.

3. What are Gamma AI credits and how many do I get?

Credits are the unit Gamma spends on AI work such as generating decks, editing with its agent and making AI images, and the amount per action varies with the task, the model and the length. As of October 2026, Plus includes 1,500 a month, Pro 4,000, Ultra 20,000 and Business 10,000 a seat, while Free gets 400 once.

4. Do Gamma credits roll over?

Plan credits roll over up to twice the monthly amount, so Plus can hold up to 3,000. Credits you buy sit outside that cap and never expire while you subscribe, and yearly plans still receive their credits monthly.

5. Can I buy more Gamma credits?

On a paid plan, yes: as of October 2026 purchases start at $6 for 1,500 credits, sold at one flat rate with no bulk discount, up to 2,000,000 credits at a time. Free users cannot buy credits.

6. What is the difference between Gamma Plus and Pro?

Pro costs $9 more a seat a month than Plus on yearly billing, or $13 more on monthly, as of October 2026. For that it adds 2,500 more credits a month, premium image models, custom branding, detailed analytics, up to 10 custom domains and the Max effort level.

7. Does Gamma have a student or education discount?

Gamma publishes none that I found on 31 October 2026, across its pricing page, its help center billing articles and its educators page. The educators page points to the Free plan, which needs no card.

8. How do I cancel my Gamma subscription?

The billing admin goes to Settings, then Billing, and chooses Cancel subscription; the plan runs to the end of the period, then the account moves to Free with your content kept. Gamma's cancellation article asks you to cancel at least 30 days before renewal to avoid the next charge.

9. Can I get a refund from Gamma?

Only within 3 days of subscribing, only if you contact support, and only if you used fewer credits than your plan's threshold: 300 on Plus, 600 on Pro, 1,000 on Business and 2,000 on Ultra. Downgrades are never refunded.

10. Does Gamma offer a free trial?

No. Gamma says it offers no traditional free trial of its paid plans; every account starts on the Free plan with no time limit, no card and 400 credits. In practice, Free is the trial.
